Why a Base44 app can't be imported into Webflow
Base44 describes itself as "an AI-powered website and app builder" that handles the backend for you: it "securely stores all your app's data, manages account and login systems if you need them" and hosts the result. Under the hood, its docs say, "Base44 apps are standard React apps built with Vite." Pages live in src/pages, where "each file is a route", and they read data through the Base44 SDK from entities and backend functions.
That makes a Base44 page more than a design. It's a React component wired to a database. Webflow can't import React code or connect to Base44's backend, and Webflow's Help Center says a move into Webflow "will be a rebuild, not a transfer". Even with GitHub sync or a source .zip, there is nothing in the Designer that can open the project.
What can move is the look of the pages: the landing page, pricing, about, a public signup page. FlowPaste copies those from the Base44 preview after they've rendered. FlowPaste reads the page the way your browser shows it: the elements, every CSS rule that applies to them, the media queries and the hover states. It then writes Webflow's own clipboard format, so ⌘V (Ctrl+V) in the Designer creates real elements with named classes. Base44's editor overlays and builder attributes are left out, so only your page comes across.
“Regardless of where your site is hosted today, migrating to Webflow will be a rebuild, not a transfer.”

Ways to do it, compared
| Method | Editable in Webflow | Responsive | Time for one page | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ask Base44 for a plain HTML version, then Convert | Yes | Yes | 10–20 minutes (re-prompting) | A single page you want as one HTML file; uses Base44 credits |
| Code Embed element | No. The code stays code | Only if the code is | Minutes | Widgets and scripts you won't edit |
| Rebuild by hand in the Designer | Yes | Yes, if you build it | 2–6 hours | Small pages, or a full redesign |
| Hire a freelancer to rebuild | Yes | Yes | Days | Whole sites when you have budget (from about $80 a page) |
| FlowPaste: Copy to Webflow on the Base44 preview | Yes: native elements and classes | Yes: breakpoints mapped | Under a minute per page | Landing and marketing pages built in Base44, as they look |
GitHub sync and the source .zip are for developers who want to run or edit the React code. The exported app still depends on the Base44 backend, and Webflow can't import it either way.
How to copy a Base44 page into Webflow
Time: about 3 minutes a page. You need: the FlowPaste Chrome extension, your app open in the Base44 editor (or its base44.app address), a Webflow site open in the Designer.
Open the app in the Base44 editor
Go to app.base44.com and open your app. Use the page field above the preview to go to the page you want to copy. Each page is copied separately.
TipIf the app is published as Public, you can also open yourapp.base44.app in a normal tab. The button appears there too.
Switch to desktop and the right state
Use the device icon next to the page field to set the preview to desktop. Turn off Edit mode, close any popups, and pick the tab or step you want to keep.
Click Copy to Webflow
The button sits at the bottom right of the live preview. The main click copies the whole page, every section in order.
TipFor one block, such as a pricing table, open the arrow menu and choose Pick a section. Hover, press ↑ for a bigger area, and click.
Paste in the Webflow Designer
Select the Body or a container in the Designer and press ⌘V (Ctrl+V). The sections arrive as native elements with their classes in the Style panel.
Add fonts and connect images
Add the fonts the result lists in Site settings → Fonts. Connect your site in FlowPaste → Account → Webflow images so images upload to Webflow Assets instead of linking to Base44.
Reconnect forms and links
Set where each Form Block sends submissions in Webflow. Update buttons that pointed to Base44 pages, and send login links to your Base44 app.
What comes across
| In Base44 | In Webflow | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Page sections (hero, features, testimonials) | Sections and Div Blocks with classes | Names from structure: hero-heading, feature-card |
| Tailwind utility classes | Named Webflow classes | Compiled first, so no utility soup |
| Responsive layout | Tablet, mobile landscape, mobile portrait | Widths Webflow doesn't have snap to the nearest one |
| Hover and focus styles | Hover and Focus states | |
| Inline SVG icons | Embed elements | Editing them needs a paid site plan |
| Signup, contact and survey forms | Webflow Form Blocks | Submissions no longer reach your Base44 entities |
| Lists filled from entities (products, events) | Static items, as shown when copied | Rebuild as a Webflow Collection List if the content changes |
| Fade-in-on-scroll reveals | A small scroll animation script | |
| Pages in src/pages (one route each) | One Webflow page per copy | |
| Editor overlays and builder attributes | Left out |
Which Base44 pages to copy
Home / landing page → copy to Webflow Pricing, About, FAQ → copy to Webflow Event signup page (public) → copy, then set up the Form Block Dashboard, CRM, admin screens → keep on Base44 Pages that show per-user data → keep on Base44
Section class: hero Heading H1 class: hero-heading Link Block class: hero-button (+ Hover) Section class: features Div Block ×3 class: feature-card Section class: signup Form Block class: signup-form
Problems and fixes
I don't see the Copy to Webflow button
Reload the Base44 tab after installing or updating FlowPaste. The preview has to be at least 320 × 220 px, so widen it if the chat panel takes most of the screen. If you hid the button with ✕, reload the page.
The published page shows a login screen
Base44 apps set to Private or Workspace need visitors to sign in. Copy from the editor preview instead, or sign in on the base44.app page first. Public pages copy without logging in.
Lists or cards are empty in the paste
Content that comes from entities loads after the page appears. Wait for the data to show in the preview before you click. In Webflow, replace changing lists with a CMS Collection.
Edit mode outlines or handles show up
Turn off Base44's Edit mode before copying, so the preview shows the page as visitors see it.
Fonts look different
Add the fonts listed in the result in Site settings → Fonts. Text that loaded its own font still renders, but you can't pick the font in the Typography panel until you add it.
Images break on the published Webflow site
Connect your site in FlowPaste → Account → Webflow images and copy again. Without it, images link to their Base44 host and break when you publish.
Keep the app on Base44, put the marketing site on Webflow
Base44 is often used to build working tools: dashboards, CRMs, signup flows and internal apps, sometimes with a landing page in front. Webflow fits the landing page and the pages your marketing team edits. A common split is www.example.com on Webflow and app.example.com on Base44.
- Sort the pages. Public pages that look the same for everyone move to Webflow. Pages that read or write entities, or need a login, stay on Base44.
- Copy the public pages. Copy each one with Copy to Webflow. Turn the pasted header and footer into Webflow Components.
- Give the app a subdomain. Connect app.example.com to your Base44 app. Base44's docs say custom domains are available on the Starter plan and higher, and subdomains are supported.
- Point the root domain at Webflow. Connect example.com and www.example.com to Webflow. Link login and sign-up buttons to app.example.com.
- Forms and tracking. Decide where marketing form submissions go now: Webflow forms, or a form that posts to your app. Add analytics in Webflow's custom code settings.
- Redirect changed URLs. If public pages used to live on yourapp.base44.app or your domain, add 301 redirects in Webflow for every path that changed.
After you paste
- Add the fonts in Webflow → Site settings → Fonts. FlowPaste lists them in the notes after each conversion. Until then, text that brought its own font file still shows correctly, but you can't pick the font in the Typography panel.
- Images: Webflow publishes images only from its own Assets. Connect your site once in FlowPaste → Account → Webflow images, and every paste uploads its images for you. Without it, images show in the Designer but break on the published site.
- Click through tablet, mobile landscape and mobile portrait in the Designer. Media queries are already mapped to those breakpoints; check anything the notes marked as "snapped".
- Rename or merge classes where you want your own system. Identical styles already share one class; variations are combo classes.
- Look for Embed elements (inline SVG icons, pseudo-elements, leftover scripts). They show on every plan; editing their code needs a paid site plan.
- Replace lists that came from Base44 entities with Webflow CMS Collection Lists if their content changes.
- Set each Form Block's notification email or integration. Old forms saved to your Base44 entities.
- Publish to your webflow.io staging domain and check animations and scripts there. Scroll-triggered Interactions don't always play inside Designer Preview.
Questions
Can I export Base44 code to Webflow?
Not as code. Base44 offers two-way GitHub sync on the Builder plan or higher and a source-code .zip through its beta API, but Webflow can't import a React project. FlowPaste copies the rendered page from the Base44 preview and pastes it into the Designer as native elements.
Will my app and backend work in Webflow?
No. Entities and their data, user accounts, permissions and backend functions stay on Base44. Webflow gets the design of the pages. Keep the app on Base44 and move the public pages to Webflow.
Can I copy a Private Base44 app?
From the editor, yes, since you're signed in as the owner. On the published base44.app address, Private and Workspace apps ask visitors to sign in, so sign in first or copy from the editor.
What happens to my forms?
They become Webflow Form Blocks with the same fields and look. Submissions go to Webflow from then on, not to your Base44 entities. Set the notification email in Webflow.
Do I need a paid Base44 plan?
No. The button works in the Base44 editor and on public base44.app pages on any plan. Base44's paid plans matter only for Base44 features such as custom domains or GitHub sync.
How many pages can I copy?
Each copy counts as a capture: 3 a day on FlowPaste Free, unlimited on Pro. A whole page with all its sections is one copy.
